My buddy Lee was passing through on his way up from California to see relatives and we got to hang out with him for a day. We tried to give him a well rounded taste of our most excellent town.
First up, mountain biking in Cap Forest

My sweet sweet wife had previous commitments, so she skipped the ride but she's never far from my mind. Picked her some flowers and stuffed them in my camelback for the ride back down. Turns out daisies smell like dirty feet, but it's the thought that counts?
Got home and showed Lee how to make some mean fish tacos. He showed us how to cook up some cedar plank smoked salmon. Definitely a fair trade.
He's a talented guitar player so we made him play until his fingers couldn't take it anymore
The afternoons get hot around here so we headed to Ward lake, which is a handy 30 seconds away, lounged around and escaped the afternoon heat.
Refreshed, it was time to get on the bikes and head downtown for dinner
Explored a few different options and decided on Italian food. Mercatos down on the waterfront fits the bill nicely.
A pleasant evening on the boardwalk
We thought about adding Lakefair to the day, but it was generally agreed that it was bedtime.
Unfortunately Lee had to leave in the morning, so we had to cut many items off the to do list but will get them done next time he's up.
